Light + Shade is an exhibition of experimental works by designers of various disciplines. Architects, industrial, graphic, interior, textile and multimedia designers have been challenged to explore light and its characteristics, its relationship with space, materials and even emotions. The expected outcomes will not be conventional.

The installation is envisaged to echo the theme externally, while providing a resplendent environment for the pieces on display.

Join us for this inaugural exhibition that we hope will become an annual event with different themes, showcasing the work of DIA Members. The DIA is very pleased to be aligned with the broader State of Design themes such as promoting the benefits of design and the development of sustainable outcomes through experimentation.

Each exhibiting designer has been briefed to consider the convergence of existing objects and adding or re-interpreting them with light to create a new perspective and purpose. Expect out of the ordinary interpretations that challenge the common paradigms of both light and shade.
